Psychology Domains

The psychological facets, drawing on well-known psychological theories, are the developmental, the interpersonal, the characterologic and the intrapsychic. Each facet includes a number of domains. Aspects of disordered functioning are manifested in the facet’s domains. The developmental facet includes the domains of cognition, affect, communication and speech, fantasy and symbolic play. The interpersonal facet includes the domains of mutuality and non-mutuality. The character facet includes the domains of the self, the ideal-self, and temperament regulation. The intrapsychic facet includes the domains of the ego, superego, and the combination of unconscious needs, wishes, unconscious fantasies and dreams.
